50K is nothing.
in 84 when my ex walked she ran up $110 K in credit card debt in 4 weeks. then split with everything she bought.
4 of the 6 cards were in my name but she signed for, and her signature was on all of the purchases.
within 18 months i had everything paid off, a court order that i was not responsible for credit cards or debt she incurred in my name or not, her name was removed from the title of the body shop, a new truck, and i bought a house.

not sure what he had or whatever, but he od'ed.
so did she about 20 years later, but not before pissing away at least 5 million that she had in a trust fund she got 2 years later when she turned 30.
when they found what was left of her with the spike in what was left of her arm, she was broke on welfare in a flop house.
her walking out on me was the best thing that ever happened. my daughter even realized i was not the bad parent by the time she was 16 and started talking to me again, now we get along great and i have a beautiful 14 month old granddaughter that adores me.

not sure what he had or whatever, but he od'ed.
