I'd go measure, but it's raining like a big dog right now.
They attach by drilling holes and using tube nuts. See this page for a picture. You insert the tube nut and use the tool to flare the backside and lock it in place.

The hardware is referred to as "threaded rivets" or "Nutserts". You'll need a big threaded rivet popper.... it looks like a pruning loppers.
If I recall correctly, the screws are Phillips head, stainless steel machine screws are either 1/4-inch or 5/16-inch. The screws fit countersunk to the bracket and have a slightly domed head.
