The 5.0 Computer will not really run the 5.8 Lightning engine well. The 5.8 SVT engine is 240HP, the 5.0 is 195 HP. The 5.8 will require over 20% more fuel than the 5.0, and the 5.0 computer will not know that.

The oxygen sensor will compensate somewhat, but it will never be "right". You cannot use the SVT computer, as the 4R70W and E4OD are use incompatible control schemes.

The only exception to this, would be if your 5.0 truck is a mass-air truck, in which case, it will likely run decent (but not perfect)

If your truck has an aluminum chunk near the airbox with a plastic Y pipe between it and the throttlebodys you have MAF and that is a hugh bonus for this swap, the motor will actually run half decent once you give it a chance to adapt.

The flexplate you need is for the 351/AOD combo from a mid '80s crown vic, the 4R70w was never installed behind a 5.8 so any late model 5.8 flexplate you buy will be for the E4OD which has the wrong offset for the AOD and 4R70w.
