2016 Explorer XLT 4WD light Clunk Sound Problem
I purchased a and since new it has a light clunk sound and you feel a click on
when accelerating in Drive out of Park. Brought it to the dealership and they don't know what the issue is. Any Ideas?
Steps to Recreate:
1) From Park put the vehicle in Drive
2) Start accelerating in forward motion and I hear a clunk/click sound and feel it in the gas pedal.
The problem does not occur in that driving session unless you put the vehicle in park again and then back to Drive.
Any Ideas or does anyone else have this problem?

Have you had a chance to visit your dealer since your post? I'll be happy to look into this further. Please send me a private message with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location.

I also have a 2016 XLT and it doesn't make any noises. My ABS works fine so I'd have to assume that it performs the ABS self checks as needed without any issues or noises.
I'd suggest taking it back to the dealer, if that dealer doesn't take care of the issue go to a different dealer or call Ford directly.

Same Issue with my 2016 Explorer Limited
I also have the same issue with my 2016 Explorer Limited. As soon as I start to accelerate and I hit 5 mph, I hear and feel the same clunk your talking about. I have taken my vehicle in for service to the dealership where I purchased it and they were unable to determine the problem, but never indicated a reason for the clunk sound either. Has anyone learned anymore since the last thread?
Thank you in advance.
