I'll be posting some PDF files related to 08+ Mirror Upgrades and some related wiring details and How-To's. This information has been compiled by others in several threads, but they are related to one another, and my thread here is simply an effort to consolidate the information in a one-stop shopping location, and the PDF file formats are easy for posting and downloading (complete with pictures) so that the pictorial details don;t get lost over time through disconnected links, cancelled accounts, moved files, etc.


Attachment 1 is how to make your own OEM style wiring adapter harnesses, and this can actually be used for many of our aftermarket wiring efforts.

Attachment 2 deals with wiring up the Power Fold and Power Telescoping capabilities of a fully featured '08+ set of powered mirrors.

Attachment 3 deals with the entire installation of 08+ mirrors, but was way too large to post the entire thread, so I had to trim it down to only the technical content. My apologies to anyone who contributed to the thread but feels "left out" because your posts are not specifically called out, but it was the only way I could compile the critical info for future reference. No slight intended.

I just noticed attachment #1 was my neighbors write-up and he used the mirrors I gave him when I swapped mine out to the 08+ mirrors when I did the write-up in attachment #2.

The final attachment is now in the first post. I had to really trim it down, and hope no one who contributed to that original thread feels left out. I tried to capture the critical details, and tried to make sure to give credit where input was specifically helpful (excluding the "mirror quality" feedback).

Hopefully, this will help someone in the future (even me).

Great Job!!.. Here it is 2019, I stumbled on some of those articles, I was cutting & pasting stuff to try to make sense of it for me.. Then I came to this post, the pdf files.. sure is handy..

Anyway I have a "plain Jane" F150 XL, w/o any of teh "connectors" these articles and references led me to the right place to buy the connectors I need THANX!
The information provided here coupled with my shop and wiring manuals should make this do able..
My '09 F150 uses a 16 pin connector vice the 22 pin you folks are using (later F150's use the 22 pin connector also) anyway, when the weather breaks (currently single digits here ) and I get her all wired up I'll post some info for others to learn from.
