Rocky Mount, VA phone exchange. I was just up there last Saturday. About 40 miles away.
I'll get the coffee ready.

There you guys go again. I was convincing myself to go back to an all wood bed.
So, BJ you interested in a trek to Topeka some day? No telling when I could do something like that with my schedule.
You could probably use a bed as well couldn't you? I mean he has at least three.

Just give me some lead time and I'm there. I only have a small golf cart trailer. We could rent one if need be.

You don't need a trailer. Just hop in Joe's truck with him, in California, (You'll have to drive there, we don't want him driving that far alone) and ride/drive to the other Joe's place in the other California. (MO) Then you can help Joe and the other Joe move the bed from Joe's truck to the other Joe's truck.

Then you and the other Joe can hop in Joe's truck with Joe and ride/drive to VA to pick up the other bed. You, Joe, and the other Joe can then get the bed in VA mounted on Joe's truck.

Then you, Joe, and the other Joe can hop back in Joe's truck and ride/drive it back to the other California and drop the other Joe off at his place.

Then you can hop back in Joe's truck with him and ride/drive back to California. (Unless he's tired of you and want's to drive alone, then he can drop you off at your place before he leaves MO.)

Take lots of pictures.

EffieTrucker,
That sounds like a good plan. I will wait for Joe and BJ to show up at my door.

OK, I'm almost ready to leave.

Oh wait... That trip to your house and then to VA and then back to your house and then back home... in Betsy... will take about 3 months.

But I've already registered for the Salute to Veterans parade for this year. And that's on April 30th, so I can't make it to your place and get back in time.

Sorry, maybe BJ can come to the rescue.

And Joe, the last time I checked this bed in Central PA I told you all about in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...on-c-list.html is still for sale. For $800 including runningboards.

But it is not listed on Craigs List anymore.

That's a nice looking bed. I was about to say that it is above my price range (well it probably is) but that's probably a decent deal and by the time I build or fix one up, I might have that much in one. I'm hoping for a budget solution though.
It's too short for me though, I need at least 93 or 94", 74" is about what I'm thinking for width.

I emailed him asking about prices for the newer bed.
He mentioned the AA bed was on Craigslist which I found: Model AA Ford Truck bed

Here is what he replied with pricing.
The Model A bed I have on craigs list for $300. I probably take $250 for it. The bed is pretty solid the back panel is pulled back a little I think a come along will pull it back. This bed came off a early 28 AA truck I bought from Minnesota. Actually all you have to do is grind off the rivets holding the frame brackets and reposition them to match your frame width. I did this on a 41 Ford 3/4 ton that I put a Model AA bed on.
The later bed will take some work I would take $100. for it.

Now, I'm not sure when I could get over there with my schedule. I will most likely be in Pittsburgh KS in a week, but that is as far from Topeka as California is, dang.
Time to sleep on it.

You may also remember that since I couldn't find a 9' script bed around here, I built a wood bed. I never planned on replacing it until I found the script bed I have now.

Just let us know what you decide.
