I have first hand experience with livestock escaping and ending up on a major highway, and I would rather chase them on foot with a flashlight in the dark than see someone end up like you. Which we did, chasing rodeo bulls It's a miracle anyone lives to see 25 sometimes

Hopefully the owner figures out WTF went wrong on his end; accidents happen, but that's an awful situation to put someone like you in if there was negligence involved.

Was that one of those Sasquatch cows? That's some damage. Glad you are ok and got a new SD out of it.

My perimeter fences are 6 strands of barbed wire. If they want out they will walk right through it. Live stock can be a real pita sometimes for sure. But it's a living some of us have chosen.

I'm guessing the cow did worse than the truck, too...

Don't get too many cow-strikes around here; but deer often enough, and they'll write off a car pretty easy, and do a fair bit of damage to a truck (I clipped one with my F150 a couple years ago - $1500 worth); not too much north of me, you get into Moose territory; and if you're in anything less than a Big Rig with a guard, they'll wreck your day...

Glad you did OK, and enjoy the new ride!

I'm up in Northern Alberta, insurance got me going, then they are going after the farmer. Here is the replacement, 2016 F250 Super Duty, XLT, FX4, pretty much the same as my 2014, except this one has keyless entry & carpet. Sorry for the pic of a dirty truck, but had to go work with it right after i got it. lol

Can't wait to get this one back to where the '14 was as in setup. Already started putting 3k watt inverter back in and almost have it done.

Here in Florida it's the farmers responsibility to keep the livestock in the field. Or you'll be on the hook for any damages. Fortunately we live in an area that not too many travel and must of that traffic is slow anyhow. Liability insurance is cheap enough your a fool not to have it. A lot cheaper then that pretty new truck you got. I constantly ride my fence lines to be sure they are in good shape. But if those cows want out they will walk right through it though. Not too many small farms left most people around here with any amount of land is leasing it out to bigger ranchers.
