1996 F250 XLT Truck Bed Interchangeability

Fellas,

Does anyone know if I can change out my '96 F250's long bed with another year that is easier/cheaper to find?

Thanks in advance!

Any 8ft F150, F250, or F350 bed from 1987-1996 will be a direct fit for you. You could also use a 1980-1986 bed, but I personally think they look weird cause the wheel wells are more square.

'80 - '96 for F-150s and light duty F-250s, and '80 - '97 for F-250HD and F-350 will all bolt on interchangeably. There are differences in appearance as well as in how the tailgate attaches that would suggest you shouldn't look older than '88. And there MIGHT be some trim differences in the '88 - '91, compared to the '92 - '96/'97. But generally you should be OK with '88 - '96/'97.

If you are looking at a '97 F-250 bed, the best way to describe what you want is asking for the old body style (the light duty '97 F-250 used the same new body style as the '97 F-150, that bed won't work).
