96 F-150 Control Arms??

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum. I have been trying to find control arms for my 96 f150 eddie bauer 300c but can't find them anywhere. I am looking to raise the front of the truck back to stock height as the previous owner lowered it (with different control arms I believe). I would like to replace the current front low profile tires with the same full size tires that are in the rear. Any help would be appreciated.

Matt

These trucks don't use control arms so that's why you can't find them. How did they lower the truck: lowering springs, drop spindles, different I beams? Any pictures so people can figure out what was changed?

Changing the radius arms wouldn't affect suspension height. You need to change springs or spindles or modify the beams to do that.

Hey guys thanks for all the responses. Here are some pictures i took this morning to hopefully paint the picture a little more clearly. Maybe he said the arms but meant beams?? I also vaguely remember him saying the truck might have been a 1996.5. Is there such a thing? The title says 96.

That beam that goes off to the left....the one the shock is sitting on top of....that's the radius arm.

You should post up some pictures of the front axle, specifically the brackets that hold the axle to the frame.

it is an I beam front axle, and there wasnt a 96.5 vehicle. ford started selling the 97 models on jan 1 1996 because federal law allowed them to do so, but they sold the 97s right along side the 96s.

Cannot tell anything from the top looking down. As suggested, can you get a picture from the front looking back to the axle?

Looks like it has drop I beams on it, if so to return it to stock ride height you'd want to put stock I beams back in their place.

Image below is representative of the difference.

Might have also used drop spindles in conjunction with the drop beams but can't really tell in your pictures, doubt it but worth mentioning anyway.

see A Guide To Ford F-150 for more info.
