Who has experience or recommendations with tires and slippery boat launch ramps. The boats weight will be at it's max towing capacity of the escape.

I have a 2011 Escape that needs new tires. I currently have the Michelin Cross Terrains 225/65/R17 (28.5X8.9R17) that came stock on my car.

The have been nice tires especially for daily driving. I have about 50k miles on them and they are 5 years old. So it is time for new ones.

I am going to be towing a waterski boat short distances but in and out of the water a couple times a week. The launch ramps where I live are often slippery from algae and can steep depending on the tides. My current Michelin Cross Terrains do slip and I have to be careful on the throttle to not spin the tires. I have experience with boats and trucks but never small SUV's with front wheel drive.

I want to get something that will give me the most grip. I am not worried about adding tires that will be noisy or ones that use more gas. Top priority is my escape pulling the boat out of the water. Nothing worse than slipping and having to call a friend or wait half the day for the tide to go down.

What tires would you recommend? I have been looking at all the top brands: all terrain and off road/mud terrain tires. I want to get one step up in size and width (about 1 inch taller). I was looking at the tire calculator and it looks like they will be 245/65R17 (29.5X9.7R17). WILL THESE FIT?
