K&N to AIS

K&N to AIS
While I was under the hood with the intake already ripped half apart I went ahead and swapped out the K&N that was on the truck when I bought it (heard bad stories about them+the box was shot) with the AIS I got off of an FTE brother a while back. The AIS was used but it came with everything, bolts and all. Including a battery tray. The battery tray was identical to the one in there with the K&N setup except it's not rusty so I swapped it out. I don't know why they come with a new battery tray but it seems like the norm. The install went well but I am left with one question. My truck is e99 and there seems to be some difference in installation, this thing seems to go right in no problem. There's a hole in the fender and a foam rubber doughnut to mate up with it. It has a snout that tucks up front by the radiator, I did not install this yet because there is a rubber flap up there and rain had already started on me. This may sound like a stupid question but I'm guessing that I need to cut a hole in that flap? Any tips on cutting it without making it too big?
BTW the rest of the parts seem to be OK and if anyone wants them they can have them for the cost of postage.
Thanks,
Mark
