Yeah, I'd do the rear bumper for the same price. If your friends want one done it'll be $120.

good deal. It will be a bit before I am ready and able to grab the rear bumper kit for. Gotta go to the dentist for more super fun oral surgery on monday and its a little pricey. I swear it might just be easier/cheaper to get em all ripped out and get dentures. Oh well the pain pills are always kind of fun afterwards.

Well turned a pile of tires and rims...into tires ON rims. 32 per wheel bolt bead locks are fun, yea right.

Hope to get them put ON the Bronco tomorrow. Got the cob webs cleaned out of the tube buggies carb today too.

Brian, love the XJ. I wheeled a 96 with 6" and 35s. Your looks like a late model... the finest final years of the XJ. and until i found my 78 150 it was my pride and joy.

If your on jeepfoum.com im gijazbo over there as well, but its been some time.

Thanks it is a 97 and is a very slow project. It started out stock when I got her. Couldn't pass up the deal on it. Right now it only has a 2" budget boost on it. Bds coil spacers in the front cheapy blocks from work in the back. Been looking at rusty's and zone for a 3" lift maybe 4". Had to cut it and lift after I put the new 31s on that I could have sworn I remembered would fit with minimal trimming. Oops. Just put on the new pro imp steelies because it was eating into the a arms when I turned but no rubbing now. Haven't joined jeep forum but go there occasionally when there is a thread that pops up when I search for something. I am on Naxja though. I used to have a 77 f150 that is in my avatar and a 79 bronco but that one was a bit beyond my means at the time and do to lack of funds and a dog trying to up and die on me I had to sell it. Have had a few of these Cherokees although and really and with a wife 3 dogs and a kid it's a little more practical then my old ford trucks but I do still love them. Geez that was a lot to type on my little smart phone

Watching the paint dry woooohooooo what fun. Went with black rustoleum hammered paint. Really like it, hard to get a good picture of the textured look but it is coming out better then I expected.

i do hate the little key boards. I have always loved the cherokee for how cheap it was to mod it. I think i added the cowl snorkel for about 5 bucks!. I ended up buying the rough country add a lift 4" to start off and my old leafs couldn't handle it so i kept the 2" shackles and wend with 4" springs with pucks and 4" leafs. Other than dealing with weld nuts on the unibody i really love how easy those rigs are to work on.

my old thread.

Got lucky on my shocks they weren't nearly as bad as they were on my 93 and 96. Hell on the 96 i even broke off the studs for the lowers on the axle. That jeep hated me.

good morning missouri.. rich i am not positive on what it is ..does sound like a rod but i am having trouble isolating which cyl. it is .. so i am hoping i am wrong .. it is strange that if i slowly raise the idle up to maybe 1500 i cant hear it. but driving down the blacktop if i gas it, it really hammers till i back out some.. i am thinking since it has such good oil pressure, if i can pull the pan off with the engine still in the truck i would try putting in new rod bearings...

at a later date that is.. right now i need to get back on the flat bump and let this f250 rest for awhile.. ha ha ha ha

Good Morning Everybody!

RC, don't rule out dumb stuff like a cracked flexplate or harmonic balancer. Maybe even something goofy like a bent inspection plate over the torque converter.

Rich, the wheels and tires look great!

Brian, so does the paint! Can't wait to see it on the truck again.

Not much planned for the day. I may just take the day off. I haven't spent much time with Tiff lately, so that may be the plan for the day.

Morning all. The addition of the carpet in the '87 was the icing on the cake. I now cruise being serenaded by the tone of the turbo mufflers or listen to the stereo without having to crank it up to be heard over the road noise. The truck has turned out to be just what I was looking for.

I'm kicking back today and watching the 500 and enjoying a birthday lunch with my family.
