Broken HPO Standpipe

I am upgrading the HPO sysytem in a 6.0 from a 05 Super Duty. I purchase the Ford kit with new standpipes and dummy plugs and installed. I performed an air test on the system and heard air leaking an a clicking sound from the right valve cover. I removed the Standpipe and it was broken at the threaded connection. I put this in at the torque specified in the Ford service manual. It would seem that the oil rail would have to be not seated correctly to break this thing. I will call the dealer I purchased from but I doubt they will warranty this. Any opinions on what could have gone wrong?
Motor is out of truck so at least it is easy to work on.
I did a search and found no threads any place where this has happen before.
Thanks

What torque value did you use? That is to say what did you torque it to.

I have read a couple of postings about this but it seems to me they were the older design. I replaced mine a couple of months ago and haven't had any problems.

Maybe it's just me but that stand pipe looks different then the updated one I put in mine. The updated one has a white Teflon ring/seal on it.

Not sure why they would not warranty it though.

60 seems high. IIRC torque setting should be 35. Still dont think 60 should break it.

That's what I was thinking. Mine also had the white Teflon ring seal. I would check them all at this point and replace if they are of the older design.

The teflon ring is there. Its only on the second O-ring and thats what they look like after they have been installed.

60 Ft/Lb (82 Nm) is correct and I did look that up to verify my memory.

The only force at the point where it broke is compression not rotational.
What does the lower end of the pipe look like?

We are talking passenger side right? How did you put the pipe in?
Was the cover for the evaporator still on and did you separate the 2
sections of the pipe or try to flex it and force it in?

With the Evap cover on you will need to pull the pipe sections apart and
slide the long on is first then the short on on top. Be sure to apply oil to
the seals and the lower one will take a messing to get it in or you have to
pull the rail to drop it in first then place the rail on,torque and then place
the top section on and torque that.

This is the updated design purchase from Autonation Ford a week ago. I think it was damaged in shipping somewhere along the line and I was able to install undetected. I am hoping this was the source of the air leak I heard when pressurizing the HPO system.

Motor transmission and transfer case sitting on tire skates so installation was done with standpipe assembled. This is the passenger side.
The end of the standpipe is undamaged.

Ford part or even if from others? I would tell them to replace it do to a manufacturing defect.
It should not snap like that.

How often do the stand pipes fail? I thought it was primarily the dummy plugs? B.
