Ok folks, been looking, and have the ability to pick up a set of 4 military tyres off a Humvee that are the 8 lug 16.5 tyres, would these possibly fit on a 1999 F250 SD 2WD SRW?? They look to be 37X12.50R 16.5 LT Military tyres off Humvees with approximately 80 - 85% tread left on them. They also look to come with the actual rims off the Humvees or am I possibly just looking at these things and going bat S**T crazy and seeing things that are not meant to be?

not sure if this will matter or throw off my trucks speedo calibration but my CURRENT tyres are LT235 85R16

 

One of our members, I think it is "Gaugepro" runs military tires, maybe off the humvee. Might be worth a shot to PM him and or search his user name and tires.

 

cool, I edited first post just so your aware im more interested in using the Humvee rims (would make either a good set of summer tyres, or they are looking more like good get my self unstuck if I get stuck in mud tyres)

 

You'll need at least a 4" lift to clear 37" tires on the front. As far as the wheels you'd have to find out the bolt pattern of the Hummer they came off of.

Your stock tires are around 31.5 inches tall so yes your speedo will read about 15% too slow.

 

Mil issue Hummer wheels will not fit and even if the pattern was correct, they have at least a 7 inch backspace on them. The issue you will have is finding 16.5 wheels to fit your truck. As far as I know, no manufacturer makes a 16.5 wheel for our trucks anymore so you would have to locate an old used set. You can have some custom made but they wont be cheap....and yes, you will need to recalibrate the spedo

 

thanks guys, thats kind of what I gathered based on what I was finding oh well I was kind of hoping it would work as I used the run flat type tyres before and they kind of well worth it!
