but in order to get to the rotten floor, you need to remove the cab mount.

I may not have to depending on how far over the rust is, I wouldn't know that till either I cut our the floor board riser inside the cab or get the cab itself totally off the frame but will probably just save that area for last and fix it the same time I lift the cab off the frame to replace the cab bushings. There's no sense of replacing a cab mount if it only has a bit of surface rust on it, just need to treat the rust right so it doesn't come back but again I have no idea the severity of the rust on the cab support there as it's been awhile since I've looked. Been busy with stuff I can do in the garage like color changing the door panels and other interior trim pieces.

Do you see the rust INSIDE the cab mount in the pic? that is what the floor looks like under the cab mount if not worse

Yeah I see it there but I also see blue paint right near it which leads me to believe it may be salvageable which I won't know till I really look into it, I was more concerned about the hole in this picture as it's on a seam where vertical metal meets horizontal if that makes sense.
