New to the garage!

Hope this is OK to post to the 48-56 forum. Do to my back/leg problems I sold the 49 F3 - just not enough room for these messed up legs to get to the brake pedal with any consistency so it had to go. Sold the farm and the three car garage as I couldn't maintain the 12 acres any longer. Sold the tractor too!
Well being bored and driving my wife crazy I found something with enough leg room to work with messed up legs. It isn't a pickup or a 48-56 Ford but I really like it.
!938 State Commander Studebaker !
It is a survivor - suppose to be original paint except for the hood.
6 cyl flathead completely rebuilt, rebuilt trans and clutch, redone brakes, fuel tank, carb, radiator, new windshield, new rubber on front & rear windows, trunk and front vent. The interior is original and needs to be replaced but the headliner is good. Has the original radio and I have the receipt for it being fixed but not hookedup. Has the original speaker mounted above the windscreen.
I need to do a little buffing and cleanup but no real body work or mechanical work to do. The seat won't move forward or back so I need to pull it out and get the tracks cleaned up and working.
It's big, suicide doors on rear doors, runs and stops well and I hope to have a lot of fun with it.
Hope it is OK to still stay on the FTE forum. Dave S

Sorry to hear you had to sell up due to health / mobility issues.
She is a beautiful old girl, and looks to have plenty of room in that one.

Thanks everyone. I will post more picks soon. I plan on taking it to TS 2016 if other things in life don't get in the way.

Are you going to let Sophie and Gracie ride in the "new" car?

That's a great looking Studebaker!

Good looking old Stude. Keep her well exercised and bring her on down to TS16.

And we think finding parts for these old Fords is tough

Of course they get to ride in it! The horse is another matter!!

Parts are going to be a challenge but I have found the people that purchased the old Studebaker warehouse stock.

I would love to cruise around in that, it's a beautiful car, that I would all be proud to have. It didn't take you long to get a line on parts resources. I hate moving, and Im sorry you had to do it. I hope this next chapter in your life is as wonderful as the last.

Does it have flip-down seats in the back? I bet you could hold a dance back there! And you've got a 3 or 4 body trunk, too.
