custom bumper
there is another post on here with a 91 F series with a custom bumper. i did not want to high jack that post so i thought i would start a new one.
i bought my 96 about 6 mounts ago and have been working on it since i bought it. i drive it daily so i have to pick the projects i undertake. the front bumper was dented when i bought the truck and Ohio is not friendly on ford bumpers. ( Rust )
so i built my own bumper. i had no extra cash but i have plenty of scrap metal.
lets see what others have built.

the whole bumper was built from scrap. the basic framework is 1/16 inch 2x2 square tubing to keep the weight down. it is covered with diamond plate aluminum 1/16 inch. i cut the pattern then used a metal break to form it. took about 2 weeks to build it working on it at night and weekends. it weighs about 70lbs. i added the openings on each side to install some LED flood lights. they are wired on there own harness with a relay and switch. and tapped into the high beam headlights. My son gave me a 4500 lb winch for Christmas so i bolted it onto the bumper. it is a bit small but would work in a pinch. i don't plan to build another one unless this one gets damaged. just thought i would show it off and see if anyone else has built there own bumper.
another mod i did is mount lights under the truck. they are mounted between the doors and frame. they are amber LED and tapped into the dome light. so the turn on when you open the door and shine onto the ground.
