Volt gauge bouncing and motor tick

Hey all, i have a 93 f250 with a 460ci, 5sp 4x4. My problem with the volt gauge is that it fluctuates when sitting idle then when it warms up it kind of settles never really had this problem and was wondering where i should start i just did the cap, rotor, wires and plugs to fix a misfire and was hoping it would get rid of it. (Had a bad wire that i could see it trying to spark.) Also im pretty sure the ticking is a lifter coming from one of the back cylinders on the drivers side but its hard to tell. Im hoping its not seeing how i live in an apparment and it would make it difficult to tear the engine apart or even out to replace the lifters, rods and cam.

Check all of the connections leading to and from your alternator. Also check the battery to block ground. Could be a worn through ground or a bad connection on your gauge lead to the alternator also. Different behavior observed with temp fluctuations, or engine warming up can be indicative of a bad wire or a bad/loose connection.
