2000 ranger 4.0 camshaft synchro

2000 ranger 4.0 camshaft synchro

Me and my dad just did a swap in his 98 ranger 4.0. We put a 4.0 out of a 2000. We are having a little trouble with the syncro. The one on the 2000 has 2 wires to the plug and the harness in the truck has 3. 2 of them match up but there's a black with a yellow stripe left. Is there a way to eliminate the black and if so how? And is there a good way to line the syncro up exactly once at TDC? Any help would be great

You'll probably fare better by swapping in the original synchro.
