1988 F-150 Airways

What's up everyone, question related to my truck's airways. So my defroster works great, but when i switch to panel, lower, or mix, it still just blows out the defroster vent. Any ideas on what I should check? Does this truck still utilize cables or does it have vacuum lines? Thanks!

It does still utilize cables however I am told it also has vacuum lines.
Curious what your fix will be as my 88 does the same thing.
