NOS, undented, with maybe even the center and upper decor panels? ... not really. Piece one together in cherry condition and it might not be out of line...

Dennis Carpenter has a repro tailgate for 450. One trim piece is 200, the other is 250. So, as crazy as it sounds, the math works...............

I agree not out of line. I would expect to pay that much for a tailgate in excellent condition.

I agree--prices like that are no longer out of line with market value. 10 years+ of the entire world having internet access has consumed the vast majority of NOS or minty used parts. I bought a lot of NOS parts 10-15 years ago that no longer come up for sale on the usual sites. Good restoration quality parts are getting harder to find every day. It's tough on anyone on a budget who just wants to fix up a daily driver.

Consider yourself lucky. The days for getting deals like that are about to be long gone.

Amen to that. I don't plan on selling it and trying to buy another any time soon!

I used to have a brand new take off from a 70 Ranger. An old guy took it off the day the truck was new to put on a camper. I put it on ebay around 2002 and about tipped over at what it brought, over $500. NOS grilles have more than doubled since then so I suppose nice tailgates would too.

Yessirree.. that upper decor panel is HTF.

The center decor panel is relatively common in excellent condition. I've picked up a couple of them for $6 and $12 because it is simply listed as "moulding, large" on the JY's published price list.
