OMG that's great! Gotta love those with that kind of spirit, making the best of what some think of as the end of the world.
The composition, editing and entire video is so well done these guys must be heavily into video production.
Also loved there wasn't a cop anywhere in sight to arrest them.

pro?
Well, define 'professional', and define 'filmmaker'...
This guy makes YouTube videos and monetizes them.
Lots of people are actually making a living on YouTube now, so I guess that makes them professionals...barely.
This guy did good...I'm happy for him and I think most of us enjoyed the video.

He's makin' YouTube Videos for money like you say and we're not----I guess that's my definition?
I thought the how they did it was interesting, watching how it comes together in the editing room. Still a great watch.............thanks again for posting it!

micro-payments (times $millions)
I still decline their offers to monetize any of my videos there....for me it's a hobby...nothing more.
Maybe one day?

You're 100% right on it being a place to monetize almost anything----what's found there is simply stunning, both good and bad.
The huge upside is so many DIY videos covering almost any known topic---very helpful for us in the DIY auto/truck repair.
Things that just interest can be seen too.
My biggest complaint is sooooooooo many posted videos come with uber-lame soundtracks OR the new trend is over laying captions thought to be funny but completely miss that mark.
But fer sure it ain't our Grandaddies YouTube these days!

Yeah...in order to monetize videos there are certain criteria that have to be met...and you can very quickly run afoul of copyright laws if there is any music or video contained in there that you didnt create, and even signs, houses, people's faces, and logos can be a problem, if you begin to claim that you own it all and you want to earn money off of it with ads or product placement for money.
I do NOT monetize my videos at all, and this is still a problem for me in a few cases.
A few of my videos have either background music, or dubbed in music for the audio track, that have gotten the attention of the copyright holders. In a couple of cases the music was stripped off...leaving the video totally silent. This really sucks.
In a couple other cases the music copyright holder claimed ownership and we maintain shared control. This sucks but I can live with it.
In a few cases, the copyright holder gives temporary permission to leave the music as is, but they place an ad for their music on or under my video for that song on Amazon or iTunes. This kinda sucks, but it's nice that they like my video with their music.
The biggest problem I have is when someone downloads my videos, then re-uploads them as their original content, monetizes them, and with no mention of me or my video, and I can't claim copyright infringement (or issue a take-down notice) since I dont have all the rights to the music heard or the logos seen in the video. This sucks worst of all.
YouTube completely ignores my complaints, as do the music copyright holders such as Warner and Sony.
Its a jungle out there on YouTube...so its amazing that people can make a living on it....my hat is off to them.

This is a real fun video and I enjoyed it.
My wife worked at Detroit Public TV for 40 years (retired 2014) and has 5 Emmys for videography and lighting... She goes back to the days of film, then 2" videotape, then 1", then Beta, then digital... I guess she's a pro.
Now, anyone can make videos easily and defining a "pro" is difficult, just as it is with musicians. It is what it is, and a kid with a GoPro can make stuff that is more interesting to watch than a full video crew from 30 years ago.
