That is one nasty wreck for sure. With the exception of your eye, glad to hear the other injuries are healing and that you are still alive. Things could have been so much worse.

Glad the end result is a recovery! I recently worked and accident where the driver wasn't wearing his seatbelt. He went into a ditch and stopped, damage to the truck was moderate (No where near the damage yours sustained) but he died from bouncing around inside.

Wow, you are very fortunate. Personally I don't think much of Super Duty cabs, seen too many of them fail in bad collisions and roll-overs. This may been one accident where having a lift actually improved the outcome rather than caused the wreck. I get nervous seeing these young idiots in Super Duties jacked up to the sky. They get a little beer in them and the outcome is often tragic.

Take care, hope you feel better soon.

Did you have your seat belts on? I was in am MGB and got tboned by a Toyota. In the drivers door. Took over 2 hours to cut me out. The seat belts saved my life. I was in another several years later where a semi ran a red, clipped the front end of my truck and tboned the mini pick up on my left. He died as his head hit the passenger door jamb. I walked away a bit sore and he would have walked away IF he had his belts on. Can't say enough to wear your belts and make your passengers wear them too! Glad you are back on your feet. I know how long the rehab can take. Not meaning to hi jack the post.

I was wearing my seat belt and the airbags deployed. They had to cut me out of the seatbelt. I freaked my doctors out because I was up and walking around the day after my surgeries. I didn't sustain any lower body injuries at all. To this day I'm still trying to figure out what cut my eye and how I broke my collar bone and how I got fractured my vertibrae and what ripped my ear off... I know the ribs got broken from the seat belt and I'm sure I slammed my face either before or after the airbag deployed. I am in the market for a new truck but the only gas trucks I can find are in work packages and the newer ford diesels scare me. Can't afford a 6.7

Something with side airbags would be on my list after an accident like that. Have you thought about getting a half-ton? The cab holds up much better in a rollover, but I'd avoid a SuperCab without the center pillar.

Just bought a 16k gvwr dump trailer and also own a 12k lb excavator a half ton is pretty much out of the question. I have been driving my wife's 2009 GMC Sierra and it doesn't even like towing my 7k lb excavator.

That answers that! I believe everything 2011-present has side airbags, but I'm not certain of that.

Have you run your vin on the Takata airbag recall . your year truck falls in the same time line as the others. you may have a claim on the company. you can run your vin on the ford site. but i would see who the manufacture is on the air bag .

Doesn't look like the Super Duty was affected by that recall:
