I recommend rebuilding the stock suspension and steering. There are two reasons for this:
1 - The stock stuff in good shape works surprisingly well. Many people will tell you that they upgraded to rack and pinion, IFS, etc. What they don't tell you is that their stock suspension parts were all worn out and made driving a misery. Rebuilding the stock front end (king pins, rod ends, steering box, and steering column bushings) is quite affordable. The end results are pretty good. You can adjust ride height and spring stiffness if you want with affordable new springs.
2 - I am not 100% sure but I think Australia requires requires any big changes like suspension swaps to be reviewed and approved by an engineer. I think stock skips this requirement.

Welcome to the forum and keep posting pictures.

Had to work on a 56 with a volare clip and a 460, I'm sure there were better installs on other trucks but the one I worked on was a cobbled up mess.
