Rear differential oil seal failure

Has anybody had oil seal failure on the rear differential at 35,000 miles?

On my '99 it failed at about 40K miles. Cost $50 to replace, and hasn't failed since.

It happens. It's not an expensive fix either.

Often something gets wrapped around the shaft and can take out the seal. They are pretty robust however.

When driving through thick brush I usually stop for a few minutes to clean the shaft if necessary.
