Installing factory foglights

I'm looking at installing a set of factory fog lights on my truck. My question is, has anyone done this, and is it easy to find where the wiring harness plugs into the factory installed light harness? The lights and harness are Ford parts.

I replaced one of the lights on my 08, and the plug is located where the frame and bumper meet. It should be easy to find if it is already there. However, mine is a 450, and they are wired to one of the Auxiliary switches in the cab, #3 actually. So they come on when I turn them on, regardless if the headlights are on, high or low beam.

I am doing something similar right now. I just bought an 08 350 that has the factory fog light switch but no fog lights on the truck. It appears like the connector for the lights is right there on the radiator support, driver side up top. I just bought a used buckstop winch bumper and it came with a set of lights and what appears to be a factory harness that plugs into this connector and feeds the lights. Will try it out and check back.

Great, I'll look for the factory connection there. Let me know how it works out.

I checked that plug and it works with my factory fog light switch. As I face my truck its on the right or drivers side of the rad support right below the horns.

I found the plug by the drivers side headlight. I also have a similar plug by the passenger side headlight.

Slowmans- email me the details. mkwfarm@yahoo.com

Ok guys, I installed a headlight switch with the fog light option. When I pull the switch to activate fog lights I still do not have power at the fog light wiring harness plug. You guys with factory fog lights, do you use the headlight switch or are your fog lights controlled with an auxiliary switch?

I control mine with the factory switch . The headlights do have to be on before they work. Maybe your truck needs a relay or fuse to complete the system. Have you got an owners manual to consult your factory fuse/relays?

Yes, there is one 15 amp fuse that says "Fog Light Relay Feed, Cornering Lamps". It has power on both sides. No other Fog light fuses or relays that I can find, even in the power distribution box under the hood.

Did you check it with the engine running or just lights on? For some reason I'm thinking key needs to be on for the fogs. Hmm, I might totally off on that though.

Everybody knows the key does not have to be on for...wait, HOLY S&%T that worked!!! I can't believe it was that simple. Key on, fog lights on. Thanks 73fan I don't know how many hours you just saved me. Unbelievable.
