New Member!! 48 Ford F1
Hello from Vancouver BC Canada!! Ive been reading all these threads and searching for past month now thought i'd finally join. I picked up a 1948 ford F1 last month. its been modified by the PO. its been chopped 3" and everything is shaved. Volare front end with a SBC 305 and TH350 Trans. Ford Explorer rear end. I have big plans for this truck. My first question, Has anyone seen this truck around on any forums or anything?

Thanks Guys, No issues with the registration besides our insurance company not having the F1 model in the Database. its just ford truck lol.
The plan for the truck is almost keep as is and finish what the PO left off.
I was going to swap out the 305 with a 302 with an AOD but with the CND dollar the way it is, it is very difficult to try to redo everything again. was able to get the power window kit and shaved door handle kit, going to try to keep the vent windows and modify some stuff to get it all to work rather than the 1 piece. Keep the 305 and just spice it up a little. I got a bunch of box pieces but I no subframe for the box. freshen up the volare suspension maybe with some drop spindles. firewall mounted MC , the rear frame still needs to be notched so that should be fun.
I think the PO mounted the engine a little higher, to keep use of the clutch fan, and have some more header clearance. but now I have to redo the tunnel in the cab or drop the engine lower. drive shaft looks like it will sit low enough to clear the back edge of the cab.
The joys of buying a half completed truck =)

Welcome aboard! I think the joy you are feeling fixing the P.O.'s
incomplete truck is about what you'd face with whatever used truck
you picked up. Your cab looks pretty good - that's a ton of work you won't have to do - grinding, welding, sanding.....
Getting glass to fit the chop might be interesting - it's a pain in the unchopped form. If that engine is already
installed & works - I'd be happy & move to the next rock.
I like your truck - nice stance - aggressive looking truck.
