You mean the truck intake with the dual TB upper? It was designed to compliment a stock engine so the further your motor is from stock the less suitable it is. If you want to get more topend HP from your motor it's all wrong but if you are building a low rpm(0-4000) torque motor it's a good choice.

You need to decide the total setup and possible future upgrades when choosing components. The edelbrock setup you described is for basically stock motors. The next step will be something like the Performance Products Typhoon products and the step after that would probably be something like the trick flow setup. There are different throttle body sizes depending on how much HP your engine is producing. He's got charts and graphs and software that may help with those decisions, all based on internals of the engine, heads, cam compression ratios, exhaust, etc .... you have to consider the total package ..... also your budget, all it takes is greenbacks, the right components and machine work and assembly to go fast ......
