54 F100 Wiper Delay?

Greetings Fellow Truckers,

Anyone know of an economical way to add delayed wipers to a 54 F100? It is already using a 12v electrical system.

There were companies that used to sell an add on wiper delay, I am sure with an internet search you will be able to find one.

You can get a universal wiper delay switch, $50-$60, or you can get the switch and relay from an older Ford truck, price varies.

I don't have part numbers for either one, but they are usually available on eBay.
The one I show from the older Ford truck is for a '73-'79 F-series or Bronco. If you go with that one you will need a 2-speed motor.

No it isn't.

Intermittent Wiper Governor (right pic) is marked E7TF-(18C476)-CA = Ford part number: E9TZ-17C476-A (replaced E7TZ-17C476-A) = 1987/91 F150/350 & Bronco.

The matching switch is E7TZ-17A553-A / Marked: E7TB-17A553-CA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intermittent wipers introduced in 1973 F100/350 & 1978 Bronco.

The 1973/79 intermittent wiper switch has the same applications + 1971 Torino: D1OZ-17A553-A / Marked: D1OB-17A553-AA

1973/79: There are two different wiper governors: D3TZ-17C476-A (1973/77) / D8TZ-17C476-A (1978/79).

Bill, that's what I get for trusting an eBay listing. I should know better.

Thanks for the good numbers.

I like the one Ross referenced: AM Equipment : Delay switch, for one motor, 12V [311-1006] - $63.54

It does what you need, looks like it will fit in the original location, and the original **** can probably be modified to fit.
