How many digits does the serial number have? Is the upper tang marked Winchester Model 1894 or Winchester Model 94?
The reason I ask is the original scope used into the 1920's would have been a Winchester (Lyman) A-5, but the above isn't it.
It has 7 digits. According to a winchester serial number search it was made in 1941. The scope is a Weaver. The elderly gentleman i got it from years ago claimed that he bought it new and it had it on it (could he have been confused with age? Probably )
