Once you buy a firearm if you can take a good training course it'll help you tremendously. It'll help you learn how to manipulate that weapon system under stress and confidently.

Plus it's fun

I'm not terribly comfortable with the fact that it takes 'fair chase' out of the question.

How many digits does the serial number have? Is the upper tang marked Winchester Model 1894 or Winchester Model 94?

The reason I ask is the original scope used into the 1920's would have been a Winchester (Lyman) A-5, but the above isn't it.

Saving up my money for this, (Ruger LC9S, with a Techna Clip) as it's much easier to conceal than my double stack Beretta 92FS.
Here's a couple pictures of my Beretta field stripped.

It has 7 digits. According to a winchester serial number search it was made in 1941. The scope is a Weaver. The elderly gentleman i got it from years ago claimed that he bought it new and it had it on it (could he have been confused with age? Probably )

Just gonna run iron sights? Or maybe so to a small Trijicon or similar? I've heard the fastfires are decent as well
