I hear you. Did some 5.56 today with the wife.

I plan on going tomorrow by myself tomorrow as well. Maybe some 30-30. Then run some drills with my 5.56mm SBR and one of my .45s in light of what has happened in the last few days

Nice lookin' Winchester for sure! You must be in the same boat as LL, I can't rep either of you, and you're both in need of them.

Due to the emotionally charged nature of the liberal, I imagine their tears are in pretty constant supply.

I am a 'senior' 'senior' citizen, knowing very little about hand guns finally acquired an interest in purchasing one and figured I would check in w/ knowledgeable members.

Neighbors recently purchased Taurus 9mm, not sure which series, and they are very pleased with the gun, knowing them more likely had to do with the cost?

Went to a dealer today and mentioned residing in a rural community I am looking for a hand gun, primarily for home protection, etc., I am quite active but still not looking for a gun w/ much recoil. Mentioned I was looking at the Taurus 9mm, he immediately directed me to either a Luger, or Smith and Wesson explaining quite a few of his Taurus customers where experiencing problems with the manufacturer's customer service, and parts availability, he suggested a revolver, specifically the Model 627 Pro series 357. Kinda pricey considering I do not expect to use it except for an occasional trip to the local gun range.

Comments-Suggestions appreciated!

I would suggest going to a range that rents guns. That way you try and find something you like and that fits your hand. I'm hesitant to recommend the .357 mag revolver. The recoil can be stout though you can put .38s in it. With a semi auto make sure you can rack the slide fairly easily. That way you can load andclear a malfunction if needed.

Too bad you are in CA. Otherwise i would say you should try an AR15. Very very little recoil compared to anything else and very very accurate.

Greatly appreciate the suggestion! Searched and found there's a 'gun rental and range' relatively close, the majority of their customers gave them favorable reviews. From reading comments I figure it will probably cost approx. $50/hr, imagine also depends on the number of hand guns I try; although, knowledgeable staff should be able to narrow my choices? Figure that's reasonable for an hour of play time. I will have to check, use to be a shooting range within few miles of my house?

Help, I am stuck and I can not get out: Neighbors, who are also native Californians, built a home in Arizona and swap locations as the weather permits. These wantabe Arizonians are constantly reminding me of the benefits of not residing in Ca.. Currently planning my escape!

Again I thank you for the comments and suggestions.

In reading customer reviews, appears they have quite a selection, intend contacting them in advance; perhaps they will listen to my basic interested and advise if the gun is available?

There's also a relatively close gun training course, not sure I am willing to go to that extent, no question it would be a great benefit?? Intend to at least inquire into cost and length.

Again, I thank you.
