If your talking AFE filter then yes to oiling it. If you mean the 6637 then no oil.

What to do? What to do? What to do? No more money and board out of my mind. I guess I can go back to sanding and scaling rust off the truck. Most of it is done now. need to hit some spots and paint. I need oil. Anyway to extract it from the sand? Ugggg. I do need to clean up the rust on the top of the cab. One small section goes under the windshield trim and I don't know how to remove it with out braking tabs or bending the chrome.

Well I parked the truck out in the back 40. Out of sight out of mind. I almost bought parts for it but figured I should do something else with the funds. Like Ammo, Hi cap mags and more black guns. I may gut out the whole braking system in the morning just to show how pissed I'm at the truck. Don't think the truck cares. Will probable just find something else to repair. Willing to trade this truck for a new Side by side if you have one.

I can't imagine how much frustration you had to deal with this truck! It seems like you're almost done with it though! Maybe take a break for a while then go back to fixing the last few things. I love the way my truck turned out with the 7.3 and I don't want to be without one now!

Yah, all my motivation is gone. I sold some toys this weekend and could buy all the parts I need to do the new brake system but just don't want to do it. I am willing to pay more to have someone else do it but don't have the funds. I need to sell a few more items and just do it that way.

This reminds me to get a good fire Extinguisher or 2.

I pulled the drums off. the E brake cables were disconnected. the brakes were really out of adjustment one side is oily or greasy. I don't see a leak. the hub feels dry like its not flinging oil. the pads are covered. I don't see a leak anywhere. the other side is dry but the drum looks pitted , grooved and I can see hot spots with light spider marks. I guess i should just replace that one. the other one feels newer.

oil or grease on pads and drum.

this side was just powder, lots of it and the drum in very rusty condition.
the adjuster was very hard to move too.

WOW, no Feedback? Any ideas why one side is greasy? I know I'm replacing 100% of everything but still??

Either oil from the inner hub seal, or brake fluid from the cylinder.

I did not notice any but will check it in the AM. the hub seemed dry and it did not seem like oil was flung around inside as under the pads was dry. the oil was on the outer side of the shoes and the drum. I pumped the pedal too but nothing. It could have air in the line still. I can't get the beading valve to open.
