Really need advice on aftermarket vs Motorcraft fuel injectors!

Everyone has been such great help to me on this forum, Thank you! But, I need more advice from you experts. 1987 F-150 4.9L had a bad miss. Auto shop (don't judge me, I don't have a work area right now found #5 injector bad. Questions:
Should I replace all the injectors (no extra charge for labor, just parts) and, is the extra cost for Motorcraft injectors worth the extra money?
Supposedly the injectors were all changed by previous owner about a year ago if that makes any difference.
I appreciate the help in advance.

What I would do is go to a junkyard if you have one close and get some used injectors,I've never had a problem with injectors on these trucks.

If your gonna buy new I would stick with motorcraft, most stuff the parts stores sell is junk imo

Make sure you go with 4.9L injectors, they're different than the 5.0 and 5.8 injectors.

I suggest ordering a set of 4 hole injectors stock poundage. I got them for our 92 F150 300 and they work great. They have a better spray pattern then the single hole.

Are they aftermarket or Motorcraft?

I don't know about injectors but the last two "Motorcraft" parts I bought new weren't the same design and quality of the OE Mortorcraft parts. I suspect there exists two different quality MC parts. In other words, the stuff you can buy isn't the same as what came on the car from what I've been seeing lately.

you can get them motorcraft or aftermarket. The ones I got were aftermarket on ebay but I can't remember the site.

I would get OEM injectors that are refurbished. They are available on EBay.

Bosch is the original equipment manufacturer of most of Ford fuel injection equipment, so if you can shop for them that way, do so. But they are not cheap. Rock auto has 4 Bosch injectors (87-4.9) left for $52 each.

Personally, I'd get a set from the junk yard & clean them myself, or in your case take them to a FI shop & have them clean & test them.

If they were replaced a year ago & you have a failure now, I'd doubt the truthfulness of that or the quality of the replacements.

Good luck & let us know how it works out.

Oem if you can afford it. After markets are hit or miss, with the cheaper units having better chance of "missing"...especially in the longevity department

I had the #5 cylinder injector replaced with a Borg Warner aftermarket. It's running great. Thanks everyone.
