2010 F250 whistling noise
I have a 2010 F250 extend cab 4x4. While traveling about 70 down the freeway I get a whistling noise. It is usually worse when the wind is blowing hard or behind a semi. Wind makes the noise louder so I assume the noise is coming from the air hitting something. Slow down to 50 and noise goes away. Do not think it is mechanical because when a gust hits the truck it is worse. Checked all the windows, windshield and rubber parts. Any suggestions where I should look.

Have the same issue on my 2014 F250. Only when the wind is blowing from a certain angle.
One poster said he fixed his by having the windshield pulled and re-sealed. I taped my windshield to confirm but haven't had a windy enough day yet to confirm the problem. But I think he is onto something. Tape your windshield and see if it goes away, then you know

This has been mentioned in several other posts. But a few of them concluded that it was just the intake breathing when it catches the wind at a particular angle. Besides that, I feel like there's a million places on these NOT so aero-dynamic trucks, for air to rush through and cause a whistle.
Since the cabs are well insulated, I feel like we hear a lot of engine compartment noises that would otherwise be drowned out by the road, in other vehicles. When I'm going around 70, Sometimes I swear I can actually make out the sound of the belts going around. That sounds almost like a whistle too, but it's so slight, I doubt that's what you're talking about.

I've had my truck for over a year. A couple of months ago while driving down the highway into a headwind, it sounded like someone was playing a trumpet in my cab..It went away quickly and never heard it since..I'm not worried about it. Maybe windshield isn't sealed right but I have no leaks. If I took it to the dealer they would laugh at me.

The wind is getting under the black plastic gasket on the perimeter of your windshield. It wont leak as its part of the windshield not the frame to windshield butyl or urethane seal. My 08 and 11 did the exact same thing. Similar sound to a kazoo or a thick blade of grass when placed between your thumbs and blown into when you were a kid. Only occurred at 70mph with strong head winds.
The 11 didnt do it until I had the windshield replaced. That black plastic gasket comes as part of the windshield from Ford both on your original factory installed glass and the replacement glass, if its from Henry and has the Super Duty logo along the top.. Its glued to the outer perimeter of the windshield. When a section comes unglued the (head) wind gets under it and causes the gasket to oscillate causing harmonics causing the audible buzzing kazoo like noise. A competent auto glass repair vendor should be able to re-glue it. A competent glass shop has performed this repair at least 1000 times. Tell them this is the problem they should be quite familiar with it. Poorly designed piece, has been for how long now???

Thanks for the info. Yes it sounds like a kazoo. I think others on here had that same issue. Maybe ford will get it right on the 2017's?

I have had a supercab and a crew cab. It seems to me the super cab doors come unsealed rather easily and I hear them pretty often. At highway speeds there is a lot of vacuum pulling on the doors, and a crosswind will intensify that. On my truck at least there is no question what the noise is. If you just close a door one click (halfway latched) you can decided if that is the same sound or not.
