08 Ford F250 steering issues
Here is another thread on a subject we all know. I looked through but can't find a direct answer.
Last winter I heard a loud bang come from the engine compartment and after pulling over to look, didn't see a thing. Immediately following the bang (a month or two) the steering started to bind while turning left only when the wheel was turned 90-180 degrees and going about 15-20. I have had to add fluid to the steering reservoir a couple of times but no visible signs of a leak anywhere!
Where I am today with my 2008 F-250 SD, it has begun to shutter/vibrate during low speed, tighter turns and it goes away when I straighten out. The best way to describe it, feels like it is getting loose or wobbly.
I haven't investigated ball joints or anything just yet. Anyone ever deal with this? I'm leaning either steering box and/or ball joints. I have 88k miles on it and just replaced the front shocks and stabilizer shock.
Thanks for the help!
