7.3 engine swap

I have a 2001 7.3 diesel F250 that is totaled with most of the body and parts being fine except the frame
I was wondering what options there are as far as an engine swap with the 7.3 and another truck, hopefully newer
Thanks for any help

Welcome to FTE.

The options would be far and wide, as long as you are talking F250 size trucks and up. F150 swaps are trouble for these as they are so heavy.

This is a lot easier if you narrow it down to what you have in mind.

A running donor is more than half the battle. You should be able to find a nice truck with a blowed up 6.0 if what I read here is correct. I would predict this will be a 8.5 on a scale of 10 as far as engine swaps. Get your tools out....

Just wondering if you would have any ideas as to where to find trucks with blown engines?

Where are you located? Insurance companies and diesel shops is where I'd check. I know of a few guys down in south Texas that had relativley new trucks totaled by water in the fuel. If you don't know any adjusters, you may be able to get a local body shop to give up some names.

Best of luck, I'm looking for a totaled 7.3 to put into an Excursion or a V-10 and have had a hard time finding anything cheap.
