R&R injectors

I've got a 96 f-250 with 5 speed just diagnosed with dead #7 injector. I'm looking for suggestion/tips on removal and reinstall. I'm planing on doing all 8 while the truck in down. Should I upgrade to bigger injectors? Should I go back with stock injectors? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

depends on what you plan to do with the truck, plus upgrades you have already done...tell us more about the truck...and your plans for it.

Look in the sticky at the top of the page for injector R&R. A couple good links in there.

Well I don't have many upgrades on the truck right now only 4" exhaust and 6637 air filter with a billet compressor wheel from riffraff diesel. I have a slide in truck camper that I use the truck to haul as well as a good size boat that I pull at the same time. I would like a little more performance out of the truck but without having to upgrade the hpop and fuel system. I would like to have 6 position chip put on at some point also. I'm thinking that I may as well upgrade the injectors while the truck is down I'm just not sure what size injectors to install without haveing to do additional upgrades.

You got supporting mods for stage 1, go and visit Rosewood diesel, make sure if you get custom tunes absolutely 100% get custom no canned tunes because with canned tunnes you will never know what these trucks are capable with a custom tune. Make sure you have an egt gauge

I will say stage I's, if its a little to much for the stock hpop you can detune them a bit with your TS chip. BUT, changing out the hpop is easy! The bottom line is, if you don't upgrade them now, later you will regret it!!

I agree with Glenn. I went stage 1 and couldn't be happier.

It will be a lot more fun to drive with stage ones. Just be sure like mentioned above you put an egt gauge in. It will run quite a bit hotter than a stock truck if you get after it.
