4 inch lift. what tire

I have 37x12.5x16.5 on my 79 "Ka'Bluey" with a 4" suspension lift, and a 2" body lift with plenty of room. So I'd think you could easily go 37", maybe 38"s with just the 4" suspension lift, but I'd think the width is going to make a difference, as well as how much set back your wheels will have.

I have 35s on my 1979 F-250 with a 4" all spring lift. They are mounted to factory Ford 16" OBS Alcoas. I could go bigger if I want. I think I could fit 37s, but I would probably have to remove the running boards. I might buy Military take-offs as a second set of tires soon.

Unk Bob you have a F150 and a body lift, the OP has a F250...just saying there might be a fitment difference.
4" lift on a F250 35's & 36 's no problem, 37's on the rear no problem. You might have to trim the front fender, front bottom lip edge just a bit, it depends on your rim off set for 37's ?

If you look on their site or at least it did show that the max size is 38x10. When I did my buddies truck I used Skyjacker 4" springs. The wheels are a centerline offset with 38x10-16.5 Tsl's. We tried my 40" groundhawgs which measure a tad bit lower but would not work due to the width. The offset and width mean more than the height. My tire would not get inside the fender quick enough turning. I have my fenders modified a little with the same lift.

^^^^ That's sharp!
Wouldn't the OP's truck as a '74 CrewCab follow the same rules as other highboys and therefore sit higher than all the lowboy F250's posted early in the thread? My understanding was a 4" lift on a highboy would sit a couple inches higher than a 4" lift on a lowboy 77.5-79 F250.
The '77 highboy just posted by PA74F250 would be the same height as the OP's truck after 4" lift and an apples to apples comparison, correct?
Just clarifying and making sure I'm understanding these lifts correctly.

Thanks that truck was ready for the scrapper before the resto. I lied above when I said 38x10 that's not even a size. It was actually 38x12.50. It's kind of a weird size but we tried a 15/38.5-16.5 I had laying around and it would not fit. Just a little more width gets it too close to the fender. My buddy had 10 just in paint so we checked and double checked before buying tires.
I would think a crew cab ends up the same height.
