ignition switch question

hey guys.

just wanting to get some info on something.

my ignition switch has some slack in it, like you mess with it and the key some can come out a little bit. also some times its hard to turn.

would that be a bad switch or something else?

that is the key cylinder, not ignition switch.
the switch is located on the lower part of the column, in the area above the brake pedal.
