SCT Livewire Tuner/back up camera on my 6.2 gas

Got my livewire ts tuner from "5 Star Tuning" Been running the "87 Performance" Tune. It really waked up the truck. Improved throttle response. Improved get up and go. Not a noticiable decrease in fuel economy. The "87 Economy" tune did improve the fuel economy a little. Im going to run the performace tune for a bit to see were fuel economy falls. This tuner also has a rear camera input. Tuner detects when i put the truck in reverse so if automatically turns on So i bought a tailgate handle with the camera in it for $100. The tuner with 3 custom tunes was $550. (Performance, tow, economy) i also can monitor temps, shift points, speed rpms. And other stuff

I had the SCT Livewire on my 6.0 loved it so much! Only at the time was not a smart purchase due to the cost of it so I sold it to make most of my money back and pay other important items. I want another and just wish....I know it is amazing product that it would not cost $600 for one or nearly. I never got around to hooking up backup camera on it and now I have cheap EBAY one with screen mounted on dash. I don't care much for the screen and would prefer to buy another SCT and use that function as well as a tuner.

The real problem though is knowing what my truck was capable of with only the towing setting on when I had my tuner was scary! I wanted to juice it up so bad but my engine was not configured for the load it would put on it. Another reason I sold it so I didn't curious one day lol then end up paying for it in the long run.

How much was your tail gate camera option? Mine is installed on license plate and seems to work well.

It cost about $100 for the camera. Its an aftermarket part. It uses an RCA connector. There was no existing wiring. I had to run all the wires. Since the livewire tuner detects when the camera is turned on and automaticly switches over. I ran power for the camera off the reverse lights. Put the truck in reverse, camera turns on, tuner switches over. Actually pretty straight foward. If you decide to buy one yourself, your going to need like another 3 foot of black and white wire to make to the reverse lights, as well as another 6 feet of RCA wire for the camera. Bought at walmart the extra wire. Very useful to have the backup camera. Heres the link.

My wireless one is hooked into the backup lights harness under the dash. Then my reciever is wired into the backup light as well from rear tail light.

Since mine is wireless I had to tap twice for power feed one up front and one in back. Doing this allowed for camera to come on only when I put truck in reverse.

The tailgate has existing holes to snake the wire threw. I fed the wires over the the left reverse light. I cut a slit in the wire and soldered it. I think its the best way to do it. Especially if you have no intention of removing it.
