Haste makes wast.

Hey there Hi there Ho there, it's almost funny, as usual my lack of research has caused me to be left with extra parts not worth sending back. This time on my back up lights mini project. without crawling under the truck or reading the B&M instruction link I purchased a new neutral/ back up lite safety switch off EBAY. So far so good , I figured once I feel up to actually doing the work, I should arm myself with how the switch actually fits on the trans while using my B&M Mega Shifter. Oops there it was in black and white, you must get rid of said switch when using there product, instead use the switches that are built into the shifter, DUhh. Ok now I just had to run out to get this done because it was keeping me awake. Simple I wired everything up turned the key etc only to find the internal BU switch in my shifter is defective so I ordered a new one (actually 2 mite as well replace both switches)which just arrived so I think Im good, we will see. Well I gotta go so I hope everybody has a wonderful day. And don't forget, a day without touchi ng your truck is like a day without sunshine.

Extra parts always come in handy sooner or later.

Update, I finally got my self out in the garage to see this thing thru, with success. Like I was saying at the beginning of this thing haste makes waste. I did it again. When I finally got my hands and meter on the parts I found that the old micro switches weren't bad after all, just out of adjustment, they are finicky little buggers. The tool that would have made quick work of this is something we used years ago to adjust flat spring relays (called spring benders), I even dug thru my old phone stuff but no luck. While Im on the subject of old phone co stuff. I was in our local museum (this is an old gold rush town) a while back and what do I see, an old 557 switch board. I asked where they got it and found that it was one that I used to maintain years ago. Gee I don't think the kids now days would even know how to use a rotary dial phone. Anyway thanks for listening, at least now I have two extra micro switches along with all the other unused parts Im collecting, LOL.
