I recently bought a 1988 F150 XLT Lariat 4x4 in great condition. Everything works wonderfully, save for a few minor wiring/fuse issues. My only problem is that the front gas tank builds up a lot of pressure, leaks a little bit and sprays fuel if you try to open it. This only happens when it's full/close to full. I'm not the greatest mechanic, and I am very new to this site. Any advice helps!

it sounds to me like the tank vent is plugged. i am not sure if that truck uses a vented cap, or an actual vent on the tank.
