2003 F150 Single Din Install
Im going to start of by saying Im not electrical guru. Ive installed about 6 stereos with success as mainly you match the colors correctly.
Now on my 03 F150 that has 2 connectors on the stock unit. I got the the wiring hooked up using http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Ford-Wiring.pdf page 2.
Didn't hook up -I- because it is a Ford Amplifier Ground Wire according to the link. Now what I didnt know is not connecting the amp I would not have sound. The stereo turns on and of fine just with no sound.
After searching this forum, I found out that I had to connect the -I- wire to something. Now that is my problem, I thought I read it has to be connected to power. Which when I do connect it to power it pops the fuse but I do get a brief moment were I hear sound out of the speakers. What Am I doing wrong? Where does the -I- wire connect to?
I have not touched the smaller connector and remains not connected to anything.
Radio was working fine before with no issues so I know it is user error here . Only reason I replaced it because I wanted to have a Bluetooth setup.
Oh yeah and my not so smart self cut the original connectors off and was using butt connectors. Any help with be greatly appreciated.
