Hey everyone I am having problems getting my truck started I have already replaced both batteries and changed the alternator last night got it started after charging the batteries and when driving it home last night the lights started to dim and radio started coming on and off. Got it home and turned the radio off and lights off let it run for about an hour to let batteries charge turned it off and now it won't try to start does anyone have any ideas on what it can be?

How would I test the voltage regulator?

 

I know better than to try to analyze my electrical issue, sorry.


Go to like Autozone or Pep Boys, I am sure they will test it free.

 

using a volt meter, check voltage at battery with engine of, then again with engine running.
engine off should be around 12.5 volts, engine running should be 14-14.5 volts.
as for what is wrong, it could really be anything from a bad voltage regulator to a bad connection on the alternator.

I don't have a decent meter and no I don't know how to jump the starter solenoid
