I know this question has been answered before but can't seem to find it on the forum. Don't like to duplicate threads.

I had to install a 5" tailshaft and housing as I could not find the 8" that is required for the installation. As a previous poster commented the double cardan from the 79 front driveshaft hits the oil pan on the transmission. The overall width is 3 5/8" on this cardan.

The poster said he used the 78 double cardan which I find is 3 7/32 in width. Is smaller but not by much.

Can anyone confirm that this will remedy my problem? Thanks
