My truck originally had a TOD overdrive four speed. The dust shield is one piece and covers the entire bell housing face. All the holes lined up and I even re-used the original bolts that secure the dust shield to the bell housing - they swapped right from the 4speed bell housing to the ZF.

On a side note I have an 82 f150 that I plan on putting a zf in to in the near future, I already swapped it from a c6 to an np435 with an 86 hydraulic clutch setup, about a year ago with all new clutch/pressure plate master/slave cylinder and a new clutch line, how much of this will I have to replace with the zf swap. The truck has the 351w the t-case is an np208, also truck is an ex cab long bed. (don't know if that makes a difference)

The disc and pressure plate will work because the Windsor version of the ZF kept the 1-1/16" input shaft.

I don't know enough about Windsor applications to say the slave is the same.

It has an external slave cylinder, I was mainly wanting to know if my clutch line would work with the internal slave cylinder on the zf. also dose all the drive line info apply to the np435?

AFAIK internal slaves have a click together connection, not one retained with a roll pin.

Do you know if the tod and t18 share the same bellhousing?

I was checking bronco graveyard, and they have a zf block plate and it shows the same thing for the t18 according to them.

Motor Plate, Manual Trans. 302-351W-Broncograveyard.com

Will this work if my t18 plate wont?

I couldn't say for sure if the T18 and TOD share a bell housing. If they sell the same one for both transmissions, your original one will probably work fine.

I don't know for sure but I'd guess they would. As bad as Ford was about having almost every engine have its own bellhousing pattern, they were remarkably consistent on the transmissions. Pretty much any Ford-sourced manual transmission (that doesn't have an integral bellhousing) will bolt up to just about any Ford bellhousing.

I watched a video the other day on Youtube, and the guy was swapping over a zf from a m5od and he used his m5od plate.
I guess I'll tear into it and find out.

Update, the block saver for the t18 works with the zf, bottom bolt holes dont line up but it will do the job.

But have another issue, anybody know the length for the linkage for the tcase to the shifter?
Mine for the t18 is to short, and had a guy mail me one that was 4 3/8 center to center for the holes, but its still a couple inches short.

SBF zf to a BW1356 tcase.

Mine is on the left for the t18, the other was supposed to be off of a zf with a bw1356, but not sure if it was a bbf, diesel or sbf.
