1994.5 F-350 ECM help
I'm found a truck on Craigslist that I'm looking into. It's a 1994.5 F-350 with 146xxx miles. The owner claims that it ran great until the ecm and gas pedal were stolen out of the truck and he isn't in the position to fix it. I know how to remove and replace the ecm is these trucks because that's simple enough, but what I don't know is anything to do with "reflashing" it and if I would need that or not or what model number ecm to get out of the few options available or what places are recommended to buy one. Also whether to go remanufactured or new or just used. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Nick

Wow, someone knew just what they were stealing!
List of PCM codes - PCM Codes - 1994-1997 Power Stroke FAQ . I would think any '94 or '95 manual PCM would work for you. Check eBay or Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for a used one.
Where're you located? If you happen to be in southern WI, I have a spare PCM and pedal you could borrow to get the truck home if you need.

Thanks for the info and thank you for the offer but I'm over in Montana! So if I buy a remanufactured or used one from any 94 or 95 manual, will I have to get it reburned or flashed or whatever the term is? And what information do I need from the truck to do that? I'm sorry but I'm really quite clueless when it comes to this. In the huge spreadsheet of info you gave me, there are 5 different entries for 1994. What are the differences between them and how do I know which one pertains to the truck? Sorry for all the questions, but thank you for your time!

I don't know the exact differences, but anything from a manual pickup should work. All the '94 PSDs were manuals. But be careful if you're searching car-part.com . I found that if you select 1994 -> F250 -> "Engine Computer", it will also list the IDI 1994s with automatics, that use a TCM that only controls the tranny. So if you see a listing for a 1994 with an automatic, it's for an IDI and won't work with a PSD at all.
