Transmission Problems

Hey all,
This past winter I was having a little fun in my 89 and i ended up getting stuck was in the process of getting pulled out and my truck stalled out and wouldnt start back up (which has never happened before) Once it got towed to a parking lot i let it sit over night (it was getting cold) went to it in the morning tappped on the starter and it fired right up. However when I went to take her home she wouldn't move. Just would rev up when i put it in drive and would roll backwards like it was in neutral. I changed the fluid and put a new filter in and its still messed up. Any thoughts?

First thing to check is the transfer case. Shift to Park, and see if the truck holds still, or can be pushed/rolled.
