Viton vs Rubber Rear Main Seal

Gonna replace a rear main seal for a friend and parts house asked if I wanted Viton or rubber. Never heard of Viton so figured I would ask here, is the Viton seal worth the price difference. My friend doesn't care about the cost difference said he just wants what is best. Appreciate any info

Viton is great stuff, and the OEM's claim 50yr life exposed to oil (Viton only claims 20 yrs), but the down side is that it is a little more brittle (i.e. easier to damage at install).

I'd go with whatever the factory one was made of... The truck will be long gone before it fails again, assuming it's installed right.
