This is a picture of my drivers side door. I know that piece is missing but can't fathom on how to replace it without taking the door off completely. Also don't know what part name it's called. Any help would be appreciated as it won't stay open on its own, pisses me off.

I think they are called strikers not sure thou. They are for holding the door open any part #'s or is this a junk yard mission?

 

Not the striker. Striker is on the aft side of the door jamb; it's what the latch latches onto.

So there's supposed to be that little brass roller there, right? Hmm, if I think of it, I'll see if there's a breakout pic in the FSM tonight, and see what they call it.

Exactly! That's what it is. I have to assume I'd need a while new component.

What about the metal piece, where the door hinge roller rolls any info on that? Mine are broken

 

I think you would have to get the whole hinge if that is missing as well

 

Awesome info on the Dorman piece, thanks! I've seen them listed in LMC but didn't realize Dorman made them too.

So...what's the procedure for install? Drive the old pin out, drive the new one in? Do you have to pull the door? Anyone done this?

 

Check page 18 of the LMC online catalog for our trucks. They list a "door hinge spring" (part 32 on the diagram) that might be what you're looking for.
